Need a swim?

Another short walk and you will be at the communal beach area. The warm waters of the Indian Ocean are refreshing on a hot summer days. Perhaps swimming in the sea is not for you, then there is the pool at the Club House located in the centre of the complex. 

St Francis Bay Activities 

St Francis Bay is a cornucopia of activities. 

For golfing enthusiasts there are two world class Golf Courses, St Francis Links and St Francis Bay Golf Club,  both ranked in South Africa’s top 100, with St Francis Links being ranked at No3. The courses, although in close proximity, offer different golfing experiences and challenges. 

The Harbour Club has easy access to St Francis’s cycling route. Explore some of beautiful sections of our coastline on this route that takes you all the way to the lighthouse. 

If cycling is not your thing, consider the Two Harbours Walk. This delightful 2km walk takes you along a lovely stretch of coastline through the rocks and on sandy pathways that link the Port Harbour to the old harbour at Granny’s Pool.

Highlighted by the surf documentary “The Endless Summer”, St Frances boasts some of the most sought-after surfing spots including Bruce’s Beauties, Seal Point and the beach break

Fishing charters are easily arranged and the bay, renowned for Chokka (Calamari) also offers game fishing opportunities. If you would rather not head out to sea, there are river fishing excursions and guided rock and surf fishing. 

Southern Rights Whales regularly make their way past St Francis. Whale watching safaris leave from the port, just a stones throw away from the Harbour Club. You are almost certain to see dolphins on the trip as well! 

If is something more relaxing that you are after, consider a leisurely cruise up the Kromme River. This is food for the soul, enjoy spectacular scenery with brilliant birdlife and wildlife along the way. 

A leisurely cruise along St Francis Bay’s canals may end up with a seal sighting. This is another option for a relaxed outing. The skipper will guide you through the waterways where you will be able to see some of the wonderful architecture that put St Francis on the map and as the day draws to an end, be prepared for a magnificent sunset.
